Steampunk Lamp

This is the first lamp I created, and since then I have grown very fond of making lamps. They serve two purposes. This piece is first and foremost a sculpture, and it seconds as a lamp. It captures some of the basic steampunk characteristics such as piping, gears, gauges, values, and bolting. I wanted to combine the masculinity of the industrial mechanical look with the femininity and elegance in the upper portion of the

lamp. I know there is a lot going on in this piece, but that is a characteristic of steampunk design. Very busy and complex, even over the top sometimes. That's Steampunk!
